Black Honey

This documentary shows the twists and turns of the life of acclaimed Yiddish poet Avrom Sutzkover -- poet, partisan, and ardent defender of Yiddish language and culture. Writing kept him same - from the time he and his family lived in Siberia, then the Vilna ghetto, the forest after the Nazi invasion of Russia, and finally in Israel.
The new York Times called him "the most important writer of the Holocaust period."

Film: Hebrew, Yiddish and English subtitles.
Plus - Live readings of his poetry

Reception follows the performance.

Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival
